Consulting Service and Software for Data Management


Blurock Consulting AB provides consulting services for the development and implementation of data management plans in national and EU projects.

We act as a liaison between the database developer community and the combustion community. Having expertise in both fields allows interaction in the community’s respective languages. Being abreast with the latest technologies in computer science facilitates implementations satisfying the needs of the combustion community.


CHEMCONNECT is a smart cloud-based repository of experimental, theoretical and computa-tional data. CHEMCONNECT goes beyond traditional data repositories in that the data is parsed and analysed with respect to an extensive chemical and combustion knowledge base. The parsed data is then linked allowing for efficient searching and comparison of combustion data. The goal is to have all data associated with experiments, from a device description, to the intermediate data (both computed and measured) and to their associated interpretations and the procedures and methodologies to the final published results and references to be available. Having published data linked to its dependent measurements and constants, devices, subsystems, sensors and even peo-ple and laboratories provides an effective accountability and more confidence in the data. Data en-try and availability can range from private user, to user defined consortia to general public.


Edward S. Blurock has over 35 years of experience, both in chemical data and modelling which is the core of this project (for example, REACTION (1) and JTHERGAS (2)), and in applied artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques and software (at the Research Institute for Symbolic Computation, Austria (3) and Combustion Physics, Sweden (4)). Currently, he is recognized to be at the forefront of data management within the community by being the ‘Standard definition for data collection and mining toward a virtual chemistry of Smart Energy Carriers‘ Working Group leader in COST Action network CM1404, ‘Chemistry of Smart Energy Carriers and Technologies’(5), and leader of the CM1401 task to catalog data use within the community. He is co-editor and co-author of several chapters in the book Cleaner Combustion: Developing Detailed Chemical Kinetic Models.
